The Comedy Store Players: Paul Merton, at Comedy Store in London on Sunday 24 June 2018 at 19:30 hours. Comedy-london.

Paul has been performing with the Comedy Store Players for over fifteen years and regularly joins the team at the London Store.

Known for his improvisation skill, his humour is rooted in deadpan, surreal and sometimes dark comedy. Considered by some critics, fellow comedians and members of the public to be among Britain´s greatest comedians, he is well known for his regular appearances as a team captain on the BBC panel game Have I Got News for You, and as the former host of Room 101.

He is also one of the core members of The Comedy Store Players.

Josie is one of Britain´s best loved actresses and comediennes and has just finished playing the role of Madeleine in AMEDEE at the Birmingham Rep. She first became a household name in WHO´S LINE IS IT ANYWAY? for Channel 4, and is a founder member of The Comedy Store Players with whom she still performs. On stage, she won the Peggy Ashcforft Award for TAMING OF THE SHREW at RSC, starred as Benedick in the all-female MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at the Globe, and has starred as Anna in THE KING & I at the London Palladium and ACORN ANTIQUES THE MUSICAL with Victoria Wood at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. On screen, she had her own Channel 4 series JOSIE, and was critically acclaimed in OUTSIDE EDGE opposite Timothy Spall and Brenda Blethyn. Some of her other much loved star vehicles have included ENCHANTED APRIL and DOWNWARDLY MOBILE Recent TV/Film credits include FINDING YOUR FEET alongside Joanna Lumley, Timothy Spall and Imelda Staunton, HUMANS (Channel 4) STELLA (SKY), THE GOOD GUIDE TO PARENTING with Peter Davidson, Manda Best in EASTENDERS, and ROBIN HOOD (BBC), THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP (ITV) and SKINS opposite Peter Capaldi. On radio, Josie is a BBC Radio 4 regular, and next appears on JUST A MINUTE. Spring 2017 also sees the release of THE RELUCTANT PERSUADERS for BBC Radio 4.

Lee Simpson first appeared with the Comedy Store Players in 1989 in the days when he sported a beard and pony tail and always wore a tie on stage. He became a regular member of the Comedy Store Players in 1990 when, after discovering that Paul Merton had broken his leg (Lee insists he had nothing to do with it) he wangled himself a regular guest spot and subsequently became a full time member of the team. Richard Vranch improvises comedy at the Store twice a week. He writes and performs on stage, radio and TV and does loads of voiceovers. There is a rumour that Richard has been on the Comedy Store Stage more than any other human. See why every Wednesday and Sunday. For more information visit

Andy has been performing as a guest with The Comedy Store Players for over fifteen years and became a permanent member of the team in 1995. Before joining the Players he was one half of the Vicious Boys with Angelo Abela. Together they won the 1984 Time Out Street Entertainer Award and later appeared on The Tube, where, dressed as a bell boy and pretending to be a Great Dane, Andy licked Paula Yates’ face!
